What are some good ways to prepare for a fight / get the upper hand when being chased in a boat?

I usually call down thunder repeatedly for as long as I can then opportunity knocks/evil eye.

Anyone have other things that they do?

I work full time haha, got a late start

Sucks I lagged out the SECOND I called down thunder and was stuck in that move so my IP gain was too slow :/
