Re: Policy Change: Open Source Code

That's really terrifying. As soon as the client goes open-source, all the hackers and crackers will jump-in doubletime. I suspect that within a month, we'll get a command line program you can run that'll macro your character to 10000 levels in each skill and all non-leveled skills overnight. Hahaha...

Re: Policy Change: Open Source Code

The opinion of an admitted, non-tech savvy, game player: I am all for fewer glitches, increased reliability and less lag. However, I think I would rather put up with these issues than have a hackable game that can give one or more individuals an unearned advantage. If exploited, such an advantage c...

Re: Game Development: Nothing Major

Edit: Oh, and we've gotten ~200 new registrants tonight. Welcome 4chan. Oh my. We just started getting over the prejudice towards goons, and now 4chan? Delamore, you better hold them in check. Are you already disliking them even though they have done nothing? Sounds like a great plan for game growth.

Re: Email Notifications.

So they had magical omniscient omnipresent burglar alarms in old-times? Who knew? Well, they didn't, on the other hand, vanish from the world each time they went to bed either. :) Jorb seems to be of another conviction, but I do find it fully reasonable that people have some kind of knowledge of wh...

The wall-ridge problem doesn't seem to have been fixed yet.

Quit using "Farm" ...

Full title of this thread: Quit Using "Farm" to Refer to farming aspects Within H&H Warning: This post is fundamentally an argument of semantics. Short Version: "farm" carries a connotation that does not apply to H&H, and therefore should not be used in reference to H&...

Re: Game Development: Nothing Major

Oh, by the way; this update also contains a few code cleanups that I made while I was away. Since I couldn't run the client while doing it, they are more or less (but not completely) untested, and they might have far-reaching consequences, so I just thought I'd put an advance warning for crashes in...

Re: Game Development: Nothing Major

"I've been unsuccessful at trying figuring out how to get wool off a sheep with a stone ax. At least I think it's a sheep, it could be a snow ape, hard to tell at night.

Also, "I've just picked up a fucking cow egg. HOW CAN COW MAKE EGG?"

Hope they aren't more snow apes.
