Congrats on your progress haro aggarret, I'm loving the campaign banner above.

If I recall correctly net nanny is for specific browsers, so if you install chrome / firefox / opera (or one of the less common browsers) you might be able to ignore it. I haven't really looked at that piece of software for an extremely long time though.

Agarrett wrote:My internet is freaking out again and I can't get on for very long. My parents installed this program called net nanny that monitors where you go on the internet and blocks inappropriate stuff. The only problem is that the thing is so glitchy that its blocking me from even getting on the internet at all. I found out the password for the account that works though, but I can't use it because if my parents find out, I'll be in big trouble. What makes it even worse is that I can't fix it for the normal account anyways, because then they will know that I know the password for admin. Its really sickening and I hope they get rid of the program all together. Anyways, I'll be back on as soon as I get everything sorted out.

Step 1

Tun on the PC and wait for the operating system to fully load. Open the Start menu by clicking on the Windows icon on the desktop tool bar. Navigate through the Programs menu and click on the Net Nanny option.

Step 2

Type the phrase "~frontdoor" into the password field and click on "OK" if your computer has Net Nanny version 5.0 or earlier installed. Check all of the boxes under the "Allow" field. Change all of the drop down boxes at the bottom of the window to the "Allow" setting and then click on "OK." Open a web browser and attempt to access a blocked website.

Step 3

Press the "Ctrl," "Alt," and "Delete" keys at the same time to bring up the task manager window. Click on the "Processes" tab to find a list of all the program files your computer is currently using. Click on the entry named "Ocraware" and then click on the "End Process" button. End the processes for the entries named "Wnldr32" and "Net Nanny." Close the task manager window and open a web browser. Attempt to access a blocked website.

Step 4

Open the Start menu and click on the search box. Type in "msconfig" and hit Enter. Double-click on the MsConfig program when it appears in the search results. Click on the "Startup" tab. Un-check the check mark boxes labeled "NNSvsc" and "nntray.exe." Restart the computer and attempt to access a blocked website.

Step 5

Open a web browser and navigate to a proxy website such as "StupidCensorship." Enter in the address of the blocked website you want to access in the proxy's address field. Hit the Enter key and see if the Net Nanny program blocks the proxy from functioning.

How are things around Haro? Spring break just started for me but I won't be going down to the coast this year. Oh well.

You guys misunderstand the point, I can't do anything to the program, or my parents will find out. After they do, then I'll be in massive trouble. I got the internet fixed though, and it should work now.

Well Cali, things are going fine aside from a few small hiccups (One of the friendly hermits around us left, and he was a pretty nice guy) but we very nearly have in idol, I had to leave about halfway through though, so I'm popping on now to find out what happened...

More nice deals negotiated: 8 bars Tin for 45 bricks quality 25 to help us make a better Ore smelter, Honey for water at quality 40 at a 1:40 ratio (1 bucket honey : 4 Barrels water). Their with the same person and I'll try to execute them tomorrow.

Updated plan based on some initial feedback and more accurate site assessment (forgot about a cliff that we can use). I've moved the north wall far up to ware the two cliffs end, because they run roughly parallel is going to be the same amount of length ware ever we put that wall so we might as well enclose as much territory as possible, this will leave us room for ample farm expansion, tree farming and even some hunting in the enclosed forest space, the north wall will probably have one gate near the rivers edge as well. Added some blue rings ware wells have been found, Red squares for wall posts, and Grey optional gates that might be useful if not for the fact that key management is a total pain in the ass (I'd only advise building any of them once key-rings are implemented at which point we will have to bash holes for them).

I started plowing out some lines for ware the walls would go, it helps me visualize it and perhaps it will help you guys as well, I started two Palisade Posts, one for the north wall and one behind the store house that would form the SouthEast corner of the Industry area and North East corner of the Bazaar. Their just block piles right now and nothing 'burned' in so we can move them about based on continued feedback and refinement to the plan. I'm considering if we should extend the residential zone further south to the tip of the ridge, the incresse would only be linear wall which is very cheap (3 blocks a piece). Once were firmed up on plans I'd recommend we bring the miners down to help with construction, picks (I hope you made another already) would help break a lot of rock, also a metal plow would be handy as well, hope we have enough bronze for both.

A graveyard outside the gates would be more logical and historically more accurate :P

Well, I never made it, but if I'm going to plant poppies and flax by the graves people will probably end up stealing them ^.^
