I am Korean Canadian, and currently, I am staying with my Korean friends. I cannot say that my English or Korean is perfect, but at least I am able to understand both languages and am able to write in both languages as well. I should start by clarifying that I do not take any leading role in Korean H&H community. Still, I would like to offer some kind of explaination about the situation of Korean H&H community.
The number of Korean players have increased quite a bit, but there is no such thing as a tightly-bonded Korean union. If I had to define Korean community in general, it would be best described as group of individuals that speak Korean as their native language. Yes, some of us go to the same forum, and some of us meet in irc, but not everyone does. We trade with each other when we can come to an agreement, yet, there are times that two Korean villages exchange hostility. In fact, for many villages, it is hard to find any inter-village relationship that is greater than simply being a trade partners. The amount of influence that an individual or a village holds over the Korean community vary, but not a single individual or village has enough influence to take leadership of the whole community.
We (when I say we, here, I am speaking for my village members and some other Korean friends that I have met through IRC) have heard that some of the Korean players have been acting in questionable manners here and there, and of course, we are sorry to hear such news. Such actions of killing, griefing and other forms of harrassment are not the nature of all Korean players. As Koya wrote, most of the Korean players are playing this game peacefully, and it is only 10% (let's just say 10%, shall we?) of Korean players who are causing trouble for others. However, due to the nature of Korean community, we do not even know the Korean player in question for most of the times, and have even less chance of stopping those actions unless they are from the same village.
I, for one, would be willing to help with translation, but that does not mean that I or some other Korean player can take responsibility to solve the problem that an individual is experiencing because of a Korean player. Therefore, I strongly encourage everyone to consider such player as just another hearthling that is causing troubles in the hearthland, than to relate him/her to the Korean community in general. I agree that providing contact information would be helpful in bringing rather peaceful solution in the case of the conflict, but once again, as for this moment, such decision lies with the leaders of each village.
