But if we refuse to let someone join who has threatened us with personal physical harm IRL then clearly we are unreasonable childish jerks who will never change.

That's some messed up shit Caradon, threatening people with murder and crippling online is an indication that you are a psychopath and should be locked up. Don't try to give me an excuse that it's just IRC, it's not idle chat, it's a social simulation. It's just a stepping stone. Don't tell me that stops at IRC.

Ok, I agree Caradon is a bit over the top, but you guys have to understand that this is more than just a game according to the time and effort we the players put into it.
In a way I take this game seriously because it takes quite a bit of my spare time, but I don't take it as far as real life though!
As for Wayneville I may be wrong but, from what I heard (A random guy I've met at the RoB) it started off good like any other but turned bad as they seen how powerful they've become?

And this is where peeps like caradon veer off the deep end. Taking these video games too seriously. IT IS JUST A GODDAMN GAMN PEOPLE. Seriously, if it has become more than that to you then you have some personal issues you should take a step back and devote some time to resolving because your problem is not us, it is not them, it is not this game, it is you.

As the person who has suffered the MOST damage at the hands of these people, if I can let bygones be bygones because I can handle it just being a fucking game, then you can too. In fact, as I've said before, I quite appreciate everything that WV and I had gotten into in the previous game. A lot of flaws were pointed, and some were addressed and brilliant ideas came about from these epic events. Take a step back and realize that role play is just play. If you're not having fun, stop playing.

I mean, I find Caradon completely fucking pathetic for all these reasons listed. He never actually suffered any loss at the hands of WV. All his rage is completely empathetic. None of the loss is his own. Sometimes empathy can be a good thing but not when it drives you to be more psychotic than those that you would see as arbiters of injustice. When we deny the humanity of others we are merely denying our own humanity. It's a sociology pattern that we will become, be owned, or be destroyed by that which we prohibit and persecute regardless of any facsimile to righteousness when propagandize. Caradon is tantamount to medieval christian crusader committing more horrifying atrocities than anything conceived of by the people they used the most ruthless political propaganda techniques to demonize.

The point ehre being is that if I of all people can find something positive in these people and our history. Y'all need to stfu and stop bitching.

Why would you even post such a wildly unverified rumor? I heard from some guy at the pub that you're a jerk, but I wouldn't go spreading that around.

I don't think you can even call the new Wayneville, Wayneville anymore, it's got way different people in it, way different goals, different map, different mechanics. We're just a large and well organised group of players who've been playing for a long time and wanted to be in a village that doesn't lose half it's population within the first month.

Look at the goons. Since Del nicked off and Sab stepped in you haven't heard a word of complaint against them have you. That shows that it's possible for large organisations to change

It's just a PR conspiracy. Everyone knows that goons are inherently warmongering evil trolls and always will be. It's their blood. They can't help it. They cause mischief trouble and deceit everywhere they go and ruin every game they disgrace with their presence. *drivels on with more caradonistic self-righteous holy roller bullshit*

This topic is called the new waynesville, therefore it is the new waynesville. Why dont you just verify his rumor for him? it is most likey true. you dont need to be their attack dog, defending previous actions you were not apart of.

The topic title is perhaps a poor one for Burg to have chosen, I figure he probably did be cause we haven't really settled on a name to represent our entire civilization and the names of specific towns are currently classified.

DeadlyPencil wrote:Why dont you just verify his rumor for him? it is most likely true.

I can't verify it for him, I was never attacked, nor was I present when anyone else was attacked.

DeadlyPencil wrote:you dont need to be their attack dog, defending previous actions you were not apart of.

My love of correcting people and informing them when they have done stupid things has little to do with my current affiliation with any one particular faction.
Additionally, my post was largely about defending our current faction, the sentiment in brick's post seemed pretty clear to me "you guys should take MY game and MY fun seriously, also I heard from some guy at the pub that you were jerks, so I reckon you'll be jerks again once you're strong"
It's nothing but ignorant rumor mongering

your ripping on him for saying nothing wrong. There is absolutly nothing wrong with the "rumor" as he described it.

As for Wayneville I may be wrong but, from what I heard (A random guy I've met at the RoB) it started off good like any other but turned bad as they seen how powerful they've become?

I will stand corrected if you can tell me what part of his rumor is incorrect.

Repeating an unflattering rumor from a poor source is wrong. Doesn't matter if it happens to work out that the rumor is true or false, if you don't know it at the time then you're making a bad/wrong decision to repeat it.

I'm ripping on him because he's implying with his post that the faction I am currently aligned with is going to get powerful and then rage out on everyone, and we absolutely do not have plans to do that.
