I think I speak for everyone when I say fuck you. Seriously.

Oh and build a palisade man, it's not hard? I don't really understand how you can possibly think it was a good idea to put your cows on unclaimed land, not surround your cows with a palisade, not surround your house with a palisade, not surround your mines with a palisade, not surround your other village with a palisade, actually kill those guys and leave murder sents. Sure Goons might have gotten raided once because we didn't change a gate to which we knew the other guys had keys too, but you guys are taking lead position now in the stupidest things done this server hotlist after this fiasco.

strongbox in a mine is a nice trick though, thanks for the tip.

I should mention I actually made a few errors in my post, it was late. I meant we had every mine except for gold in one local map. There were like 13 villagers all of whom were supposed to be working and palisading our huge area, while realistically it was just Dog and me trying to do that WHILE supporting them. We literally had the perfect set up and blew it because we had lazy villagers. We were focusing on getting our plots under the village claim (dog even planted an absolutely massive hemp field for linen) and the cows were just out of reach. Literally, this entire ordeal was made possible because we didn't have people around who were willing to pull their weight. We even had a tin and copper mine inside of the same minimap, right next to each other. It was perfect. :\
I should mention, the mines were palisaded and the silver one was brickwalled. We simply overextended without the labor to compensate. My actual house did have its own palisade and that is why it is still unbroken even after the russians invaded.
Edit: It is verified, if you have the key and are standing inside of the strongbox you can both open and pick it up. So yeah, it is essentially a lockable door for mines.

Strongboxes are useless if they're immobile.

Considering how little protection top-side is and you can't do much in mines, why the hell not have them be movable in mines or movable period?

They're literally the only way to make a friggin' gate you can bring a wagon in and out of atm too.

While I agree that you could make infinite storage underground you'd still need to WORK to make said storage in the mine, and it's unrealistic one person would do it for such.

How about you build a real wall around your mine's entrance?

hmm, thats interesting...and...
why all the fuss about the box?
kill him and take the key, then
take the strongbox. Don't rush
into the mine, kill everyone in
the village, put all the keys you
find on a key ring, and- Tada!

This is pretty much the only form
of security that isn't useless it seems,
unexpected stuff that seems like
bug abuse.

What if the key is alt-vaulted?

Also, defensive use of this is exploitative, but offensive use is just downright horrible. So, from now on, I'm going to use strongboxes to disable mines of every village I raid.

That's the spirit! take advantage of
it until they're forced to do something
about it! always works.

Offensively it's a waste of a mine and a griefing tactic. Defensively it's the only way to truly defend a mine without the bullshit about walls at the moment. :/

The only key to that strongbox exists inside the strongbox. That mine is null until someone gets 1521 strength and breaks it.

Shame that's how it ended up, that really was a great place to have a village besides all the goddamn hills.

Silver directly east of the village, copper/tin about a localmap to the east of silver mine. West of town about 1 localmap west 1 down is an iron mine on a mudflat, no hills around.

I'd post a map of the whole area but a few people are still living there despite me continually telling them of how pointless it is to think you'll stay safe there.

Quick question though, can we get back to the part where they murdered a ton of people for no reason (after they had already taken revenge on dog)?

1)They were slaughtering cows, it was someone who knew what they were doing and were trolling
2)He was doing something a ways away, I was on an alt character and already dead, when he came he killed said person, since it was on unclaimed land (freshly spawned character), and he killed them straight up using Murder.
