His rumor was worded in past tense. If you took it the wrong way, thats your problem.

It's just a PR conspiracy. Everyone knows that goons are inherently warmongering evil trolls and always will be. It's their blood. They can't help it. They cause mischief trouble and deceit everywhere they go and ruin every game they disgrace with their presence. *drivels on with more caradonistic self-righteous holy roller bullshit*

His rumor was indeed worded past tense, however the position of his post and the entire contents would tend to indicate that he is using the past as an indication of the future, as people so often do.

If you took it the wrong way and have too narrow a mind to comprehend a position held by a person that is not yourself then that's your problem.

Repeating an unflattering rumor from a poor source is wrong. Doesn't matter if it happens to work out that the rumor is true or false, if you don't know it at the time then you're making a bad/wrong decision to repeat it.

I have to take a moment to correct you trav...because it's the INTERNETZ and you are WORNG OMRGZ!

Repeating an unflattering rumor from an unnamed source is cowardice and propagandastic. Or it would be propagandastic if the speaker had any reputation of note to exploit on a PR campaign. Also, if there was 'nothing wrong' with what was said, then it wouldn't be a rumor now would it?

Of course, I believe his intent was to say that the rumor was 'true' despite diverting responsibility for repeating a rumor in the first place by conveniently and cowardly making said 'speaker' anonymous. In which case I would have to point out that the rumor itself contains an inherently moral accusation. Morals are not absolute standards. They are arbitrary judgments handed out based on the perspective of said judge. Naturally some judgements hold greater weight than others based on the opinion of the speaker of said judgment themselves. Nevertheless, when you trace moral condescension back to their source and discover the reason for the making in the first place, you will ALWAYS discover that said judgements are but opinions and nothing more.

Until someone unequivocally proves God anyway. Good luck with that one.

Removing the rumour from the rest of his post did not dilute it's intended meaning in the way I was presenting it.

Implying that because the rumour was worded in past tense that his entire post was past tense is using it out of context.

I don't see how his newness to the game has any bearing on whether he should be throwing unverified derogatory rumors around, nor do I even accept that he is an overly new player given that he's talking about how he plays the game and takes it seriously and invests a lot of time so on and so fourth.

I'm calling you names because you are not devoting any time to understanding the scenario you're entering into. You claim to be defending him, but you're doing a poor job of it. I would say you're doing a better job of baiting myself and verbally attacking the faction I'm aligned with, but you're still not doing a good job of that.

Good and Bad can exist without religion.

An act that benefits no-one and is to the disadvantage of many is a bad act. If it's made against the option of an act that benefits everyone and disadvantages no one it is even more apparent that it's a bad act.

It's pretty easy to start extrapolating morals from there. Clearly there are going to be grey areas, but it is more than possible to take a fairly objective viewpoint on it (in as much as we can be objective about anything considering that we perceive the universe subjectively)

I'll give to you that they can exist without religion. But they're still judgements. Religion is just far more effective at propagandizing them on a massive scale.

What is a judgement but a decision?

The speed of light is nothing but a judgement, that doesn't make it any less real (speculative theories aside)

Speed of light is an observation not a judgement/decision. At least..not unless you're 'God'. =d
