Plenty of people who are not "major factions" have multiple mines and have sold them off.

Well, I know that Rome is now part of Sodom now that nearly everyone has moved out or quit. I also know that Rome has an iron mine in it. Therefore, Sodom has at least one more iron mine than it needs because they obviously had one before. It is silly to think that holding onto an extra mine you don't need and probably won't use "just because" is better than selling it off to someone. The same argument goes for all of those people who claim to own mines that are a supergrid away from their city and they only visit to kill the squatters who show up every time someone stumbles on their unused mine.

Well, if everyone had their own mines, then no one would need to buy the low q metal - which is a great trade commodity PRECISELY because of it's scarcity, so I can see why people wouldn't want to sell their surplus mines ;)

I sell you an extra iron mine for 1,000 inkweed.
Either paid in full or you can pay weekly/monthly payments.
With payments I will keep LS until full amount is paid. Then it's all yours.

I'll be polite once more. Since I started this thread, I ought to get first dibs on any offer. I have PM'd ElGato, if my group decides not to accept his offer, then feel free to take it up yourself. Start your own thread if you want to snipe offers. Until then, I kindly request you troll somewhere else.

CodenameB wrote:Now I know what people are thinking "lol nub no one would sell their mine" but we know full well that the larger factions have multiple mines, usually far more than they need. Either by conquest or merger, they have multiple mines of the same type, or mines that simply aren't getting used. It would be more beneficial for everyone involved if they just got rid of the mines that they don't need for a profit. The question is, how much of a profit is needed to sell an unused or rarely used mine?

Let us assume that the people who want to buy mines don't have them. That usually means they don't have access to anything of decent q to trade. The price would have to be something that they could obtain. We would also have to assume that none of the things that could be used as payment could be sent in bulk sums, and would instead have to be paid over time, not unlike buying a house. Perhaps cavebulbs, perhaps bricks, or another idea: Have the new owners mine it for you for a while, and send a few shipments of ore to you. This way, you still get ore which the hq smelters in the big cites can turn into something useful, you get someone else to mine for you for a while, and the noobs with their new mine have a way to pay for it. If they don't pay up, it is no real trouble to kick them out.

So then, my question to Sodom, A.D., or whoever else that might have excess mines, what would the price of one of them be? How many shipments worth of ore, or how many chests of bulbs and chants would you want for it? Feel free to break down the estimated prices based on type of mine or if it's location is out at the edge of the world where no one wants to go.

(P.S. Before we begin the tired diatribe of "go find your own mine" let's just admit that all, or nearly all of the mines in the game are already claimed. I've had the experience myself of finding mines seemingly abandoned with rotting walls, open gates and no village claim, only to have someone come by after building a village around it and tell me that they own it. Hell, I've seen villages that claim to own mines more than a supergrid away from them, where the authority has run out from lack of use. Rather than argue about finding mines let's stick to selling them. If they were easy to find they wouldn't be expensive.)

YOU never actually say YOU are looking for offers and you are trying to persuade them to do it your way...Also Elgato is a friend of mine and i have pm'ed him...

I was going to write a long post deriding your idiocy but I realize that coupled with your style of typing, lack of ability to use the shift key, and the things I've heard about you in other threads, you are clearly not worth my time. We shall see who ElGato decides to message. Until then, feel free to return to getting your caravan wagons stolen and your followers killed, I've got a movie to go watch.
