So what happens with people who currently have 'store credit,' I guess you could call it.

You know what happens when a bank collapses?

I think that's a bad example because as far as I know, you get your money back to a certain extent. I don't think the Goons are a bank, either.

Unless you mean literally collapse, then I don't know.

Are we going to get an explanation for why goons suddenly shut down, or are you guys just going to disappear?
Man this sucks... :(

I gotta say I thought these prices were too expensive. That being said, if everyone else is panicking about the collapse, we can attempt to use these prices as a general guideline and just trade between ourselves instead of centralizing everything through the Goons.

I thought the prices were quite reasonable, even too low. The goons have been generous traders and a pillar of this game- think of how many new players have benefited from their goodwill and access to endgame items and metals from their trades. Prices rising because the goons stop trading is almost inevitable. Deal with it.

Not only were their prices quite low, but their range was huge (both buying and selling). Many of the smaller settlements are going to have a much harder time trading for high end stuff now. It's like having your nearby supermarket close down, forcing you to shop at some crappy corner store... only to find they won't accept your currency. >:(

the goons sold a lot of stuff that most people would refuse to sell - thanes, forges, hq clay, hq weapons. someone from another major city told me once "the reason we don't sell thanes, is that we don't want to sell something that may eventually be used to kill us".

i can understand why they shutting down, to be honest i've found trading to get old after a while. in the time it takes to mine and smelt 6 bars of iron i could have easily found 18 bulbs. for another example, i could farm a chest of linen and get a very nice bit of lp, or trade a few metal bars again and now my trade partner got that linen lp instead.

i would always trade some odd bars of metal here and there to people in game who asked, but the only trades i actively looked for were for things i was unable to produce myself. judging from the goons "sell" list, it seems that there's nothing they aren't able to produce in-house.

tbh i always found the whole selling thanes for cavebulbs or piros or whatever to be very surprising. q400+ thanes definitely something i would have never offered to trade, and i'm sure many precious metal mine owners/high end jewelers would agree with me.

lol, as far as i know the goons, or anybody else for that matter, never stopped anyone from trading between themselves
