That's a damn lie. Lake does most of the trading, and I hear of everything that has to be 'decided'.

I toldhim not to sell GOOD steel, we can sell regular steel oh SURE, but we're not going to sell you q150+ plate armor, or swords. We won't evne sell you q100 plate armor/swords, bceause either:
1)You dominate the hearthlands as far as newbies are concerned and go around wrecking small shit, we don't have time to watch what you're doing with what we traded you.
2)Everyone and their goddamn mama asks for some, we're not making THAT much steel THAT often, I'd rather focus towards spiraling.

I can understand both points. I'd like to state that i am seeking this equipment so that i can be properly equipped to be a defender of our village. I dont run around destroying things... its not worth it. I'm seeking to help my king build a safe and productive community. To do that to greatest effect, i'll need proper equipment.

I can understand a lack of trust, i can understand not wanting to trade high quality steel. The problem i'm having is that everyone in our area is telling me they wont trade anything involving steel at all. Its not an issue of quality, they simply wont. So i'm seeking trade beyond my area. If i cant get what i want local i have no qualms with trying to get it from somewhere else.

And if it werent for the factor of people offering me trades and the fact that i'm discussing deals for the equipment i want, i would start trading for iron to make my own steel from scratch. Thats how aggrivated i am with these trade corporations.

We can help you with that:
Dragons Helm
Plate Armor
Soldiers Sword
Merchants Rings
Monocle

Now the main point, what you pay for it ?
Also you must understand, that if you will try to go killing innocent, we just come, and shoot you... guys too pissed after FEP tables nerf, so they will come even if it will be at other side of world just to make fun.

If you agree with that, awaiting your PM. We will make delivery. You must understand prices for materials and work so no whining about how expencive it will be, you want best stuff... pay for it. Only good payment I see is pearls, a lot of them...

PS. If you wanna protect your village, do lot of trades with Sodom, AD and other strong citys... if you will be good trader to us, we will never leave you in trouble.

Two suggestions

1)get closer to one of the bigger factions, as a village, not a person. If we know you good enough we may be inclined to actually trade such things with you. The few times we 'bent rules' to trade things we wouldn't normally (like the first d helm) were because we really knew the person well, whether through trading other things, or through just chatting.

2)Get to the point of making it yourself :/

1) our village king actually wants us to move farther away, to "Bring civilization to the untamed wilds"

2) Kinda hard when you dont have a gold mine, silver mine, or iron mine. and the only way to get them is by force, which i dont have to know much about any of the factions in this game to know that's a stupidly suicidal idea....

Ah, well, my king has been working towords achieving that goal. We've been in contact with members of AD, but not very frequently. And all the trade offers that we've been given are for things we either dont really need or cant realistically pay for.

800 q40+ deer meat for a q300 merchant ring. (not the exact offer, apologies, but its close if my memory serves.)

Its a nice item, dont get me wrong, but i have to worry about feeding myself and those i am sworn to protect before i can think about trading so much food to an outside source for a single item that wont directly benefit those whom the food is being denied.

My peoples safety and wellbeing come before my personal goals...

Linen? Brick?

We'll sell you such things for linen, brick, inkweed, meat, intestines, whatever you can go find on our list. The exact amount of Points it'll cost, you need to talk with ewlol about, he'll come up with something.

And I understand that you find that the prices are high, but you really do have consider how hard it is to find a gold mine, and thne how hard gold mining really is. No it's not like minin copper, you typically get 0.8 gold nuggets per smelter. NUGGETS not BARS, and .8, not the average SIX you get from copper/tin/iron. Gold/silver are tough to churn out, more annoying to mine, and typically not as well stocked.

Now while q300 merchant's for 800 deer is clearly just retarded, if you look at our thread (Sodom) you'll see that:
100 Pts = q700 Merchant's (a lot higher now, we didn't update because it's a picture, talk to ewlol and he'll tell you new numbers)
1 Pt = 4 Meats q90+ (Deer Meat should all be q90~100 really)
400 Meats for q700+ Merchant's

Seems unfair? Well, here's the deal, it takes: 2 gold nuggets to make those rings. It also takes a lot of cavebulbs to get there.
Typically the rate I say to make all jewelry is somewhere between 1.5x and 2x the price of raw gold. Gold Nuggets are typically 1 Gold Nuggets = 3~6 decent quality Steel Bar. Steel Bars are 15 Pts each for shit quality, 30~ for good quality. 30 * 3 = 90 (per ungget), 30*6 = 180 (per nugget)
So let's say we go low ball at gold nuggets = 3 steel bars, that's 90 PER nuget, so that merchant's ring is only a little more than the price of ONE gold nugget, and it costs TWO gold nuggets to make it.

I'm at a net loss here if I counted it straight forward in gold nuggets to steel or to meat, it seems like a lot to you yes, but it's not. It's not at all. You're taking one of the things valued the lowest because it's easy to get en masse and putting it up against one of the things that will sell highest: gold. You expect a decent number, but you're not realizing what you're actually doing.

If I asked you how many bricks for 1 gold nugget do you think I'd tell you a low number just so it sounds good to you? Fuck no, I'm already at a loss! I'll tell you exaclty as it is 100 Pts * 8 due to brick amount, so 800 Bricks. And that would be that.

As leader of his village, if he were to take such an action, if we didn't get to him first, we'd open the gates and let you in to get him. But then he knows this, and wouldn't soil his honor in such a fashion. We chase down and slay those who attack innocents in our area, or call in help if we can't get them.

PS. If you wanna protect your village, do lot of trades with Sodom, AD and other strong citys... if you will be good trader to us, we will never leave you in trouble.

Good to know, we will continue our existing trade agreement with you.

And i thank you for being honest.

Dont get me wrong, i do understand the value of the items i seek. My original problem was that no one in our area would trade the items i wanted, and the few items i -could- get, were of such a high quality that it was..... i dont know how to explain it... I was given the impression that what i wanted to trade for didnt matter, all that mattered was what they wanted to trade to me, and anything i asked for was unobtainable because it wasnt what they wanted me to buy.

I would have no problem paying 800 bricks for a merchants ring, if i asked, "Can i have a q--- merchants ring?" and was told "Yeah, that'll be 800 bricks." OK, cool, i can do that. Sure i might shop around to see if i could get a cost that i could more easily pay. I mean, 800 bricks is trivial to make(as far as material availability and time from raw material to final product), but is still tedious as hell to make 800 of them.
