Dont get me wrong, i do understand the value of the items i seek. My original problem was that no one in our area would trade the items i wanted, and the few items i -could- get, were of such a high quality that it was..... i dont know how to explain it... I was given the impression that what i wanted to trade for didnt matter, all that mattered was what they wanted to trade to me, and anything i asked for was unobtainable because it wasnt what they wanted me to buy.

I would have no problem paying 800 bricks for a merchants ring, if i asked, "Can i have a q--- merchants ring?" and was told "Yeah, that'll be 800 bricks." OK, cool, i can do that. Sure i might shop around to see if i could get a cost that i could more easily pay. I mean, 800 bricks is trivial to make(as far as material availability and time from raw material to final product), but is still tedious as hell to make 800 of them.

So you're saying that you'd want a q300 one, but people would only sell you a q1,000 for example?

I see this problem often with steel (from us) because of what quality we can turn out steel... we can turn q30 stuff into q90, and q50 stuff into q110+ for armor, q50 into q120+ for weapons, so even mediocre/midQ steel we can sell for a lot more as 'hq' steel goods as opposed to selling it to you for less than half because yo only want a q50 steel plate for example.

That has been the mots recent problem, I have no problem selling as high a quality bronze as possible but I never want to trade my enemies the means with which to kill me, so I will not trade a single sword of q150 which could match mine and kill me, however I have no problem selling a sword of q90~100 ish because I still have a large advantage ;)

It's just how it works, we work hard to get ahead, we're not going to sell the best, sorry. :( Not for things that come back into any sort of 'Me v You' problem.

Not to say that I expect problems with your village, but I don't know you guys so I'm vastly uncertain, and not willing to take the leap.

Thats about it. All the offers i've got in-game have been pretty much that. "Wanna trade for a q800 ring?" "No, but do you have a q50 or so soldiers sword?" "Sorry no...." It just..... i dunno....

the phrase that comes to mind is "What is this... I dont even....."

On that note, entirely understandable not wanting to trade your best gear, and i dont blame you. I've considered trading bronze weapons and armor to those around us, but i've decided to hold back on that until i have a decent steel sword and armor, to ensure that exact thing. I dont want to be killed with a bronze sword that i crafted... I dont enjoy irony quite THAT much.

As it stands, i think i've got stuff handled now. I'll shoot you a PM in the future if i need anything <3

Maybe you should invest in making some decent ql steelcruks and then buy wrough from the big citys instead, and make your own steel if you feel the ql dont matter that much. With the new ironworking system most big factions have a lot of wrought in stock. wrought cost 3 times what a cast iron bar would cost normally, but atleast you are able to make a lot of your own steel that way and then craft the armour for your village youself, costing you less in the loong run, will cost some extra of your own time though. Steel making is very time consuming and consumes insane amounts of lumber, it is just so annoying having to babysit those cruks, most villages hate to do it basically and tend to always have low stock on steel, hence only enugh for their own needs.

just a suggestion

I don't think many people will trade steel for sticks...

Hey, I have an idea.

Man, grow some balls and make your stuff yourself. Really, you just wasted 10 minutes of my life. Q80-100 average metals (or even steel, as of ironworking update) aren't that hard to come by nowadays, I was able to do that 4 months ago when I left my old village. Jeez.

The quality i'm not really worried about so long as its around q20-30. It seems like no one in my area is willing to even consider trading anything for these items.

To be quite frank with you, I can't really take you seriously if asking for around q20-30 gear, it displays to me that you probably are inexperienced and have nothing worth my while. Dragon Helms take gold, gold isn't cheap, no one makes q20-30 dragon helms. Plate Armor takes steel, steels a bitch to make, with a good anvil and hammer q20-30 steel becomes q100 plate armor. Soldier swords are the same thing. AD sells q1000 merchant rings. AD/Sodom sells around q100 monocles. Notice how different those numbers are?

If you looked at the bigger factions list you could have found some of the items you were looking for. Then when doing your trade to get those, you could have inquired about the items they don't list as selling. That would have caused this thread never to be created and you to not bitch about people not trading when really, trade is quite lucrative and you can buy almost anything.

Thanks for wasting my time reading through 3 pages of shit hoping it was about something more interesting instead of a noob looking to buy shit qualities of items that require high-grade materials.

Your input wasted just as much of my time. =\

That's your decision but the truth is quite that this is the most intelligent post in this thread next to dog's post. Dog has a handle on this game like no one else. He's got Avu's passion, Delamore's PR 'Charm', my politico/merch wit, and the tempermant of a casual leader like burgingham and the intelligence to match all of us.

Do not fuck with him. THese two people have posted the best trading advice in this thread to any upstart.
