Trader Noob

Postby uncleseano » Mon Apr 26, 2010 2:11 pm

Heya honky, I'm new to this so I'm sopping around the ears. Say what are good resources to trade if there is no access to mines where I am. Also does anyone know a good way to find where I am in the world regarding other people and this 'brogar' place?

There is no Brodgar. If you want to meet people, it's up to you to go out and find them (and hope they are friendly)

Generally people with metal will trade for chantrelles (think in terms of dozens), silk, cavebulbs, maybe pearls, or crops they are missing

you might also want to adjust the tone of your posts so you dont sound like someone who is no doubt up to no good.
also, pull up your map and look around. big blank places usually have someone around them (clear cutting for palisades and houses) and the little gray squares indicate plowing/plowed land which usually means someones setting up stone.
word of caution: turn on your claimed area doohickey and stay off of anything that is red around a settlement. Rangers in h&h tend to track first (ie kill your ass) and ask what you were doing on the property later. we are ever so slightly paranoid around here. for good reason.

Yeah you rarely see people if you're an hermit, and trading can also be done at Constantinople.

actually should I even bother doing this mapping, is it better to just get a map off someone else?

No. Don't do mapping because, if you don't look at a backup copy of your map every 12 days or so, it gets wiped. So having a map library -- GOOD LUCK!

do the mapping, screencap your maps and save them on your hard drive.
