ccog wrote:Not balanced? How so? It's pretty realistic, you lay down the ladder, climb over the wall. Badda bing badda boom. The counter is to have guards patrolling your walls, yes, that's right, the counter is actual player activity.

The balance is that you can't carry chests or other containers over.

i lol'd. as has been pointed out many times, realism only matters as long as it is not overly complicated, or unless it is a much simpler way opposed to the "non realistic way".

also. the counter is actual player activity.righht you actually believe that jorb/loftar, who created this game and lets everyone play it for free are going to ruin hermits and most villages favorite game by making at least one person be online at all times.. although i cant speak for you, the rest of us do have other things to do, like sleeping and working and spamming and etc. how would the common hermit deal with this. not to mention this would completely render walls and most rams useless...

that balance is the worst balance ive heard... and ive made a lot of bad ones in my time. you dont need chests and containers. bring more people hurr. or port if your close by. or simply pass things over to people on the other side of the wall who can store it in your own containers.

if you cant think your ideas fully through and at least come up with some decents resolutions to your flaws. dont post them. im sure AAlex can handle muh more haven than you, simply by the fact he can play it, without wanting this that and every other silly idea.

see what happens when i have to use low fat milk in my tea

Let us reflect upon the good he was able to do during his short time in the hearthlands.
Let us remind ourselves of his bravery and willingness to fight for the safety of his friends!
Let us hope he can surpass his previous achievements in his future lives.

Op your idea is bad and you should feel bad.

Your idea virtually makes defense useless and for your idea of you need active players you are quite fucked if your players enjoy other things.

The idea of no chests being brought in is easily taken care of by bringing mats in for the chests or just robbing w/e and hearthing.

Once again, terrible terrible idea.

I think if you gave it a 80% chance of your character falling off the ladder and dying instantly, it might just be balanced.

Only if it required minimum 200 agi, so people can't use cheap theft alts to avoid risking much.

Hi! I'm back!

As I was saying, not a good idea... For one, the reason this game is so popular is because it encourages different types of play, I'll put these different types of play in two categories to make it easier for you... 'hardcore players' and 'Casual players'.

I know a lot of people who casualty log in and out for a few hours a day and are happy to play the game at their own pace, as they have wives and families... Some I know which in fact play with their wives or husbands, I think this is cool and the game encourages it.
This ladder idea might sounds cool to 'hardcore' players (like yourself..?) who have villages and such... But the balancing idea for people like casual players, Like I mentioned above... Isn't cool.

If you can come up with some kind of counter measures for your idea, Something like this? viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19560&hilit=ranger+tower
Just trying to give ideas...
