So apparently you've built a hermitage or a village or designed somewhere/somehow for yourself to survive.
You've designed a system of crafting, harvesting, and mining to acquire materials for yourself to acquire the food, weapons, tools, etc. to progress.
You've got enough curiosities and/or the production necessary to acquire new curiosities.

Not hard to do so not far fetched at all!

I'm not sure what you're complaining about? You're sad that you actually get to build and do all of these things rather than deforest an area and make buckets...?
I mean, you still can and get just as much benefit as long as you've got curiosities being studied. What's the issue? You want to be rewarded for grinding buckets? No. There's no good reason to force people to do that again.

No no, you are completely wrong...cheese trays was where it was at ;)

Other than that you perfectly spot on.

Actually, on re-examination, I think I understand. He wants the game to have a time sink and to be more gamist in its approach. If that's the case he'll need to actually present an argument for why it should be like that.
"I enjoy cutting down forests!" is not an argument.

Slow down the progression of villages so they dont reach the endgame in 2 days of the world starting? Make it slightly harder to progress alternative accounts?

Other than that I guess to make the game significantly more grindy than it already is

Erm, oh wow, did you play in the same World 4 as everyone else? Curiosities significantly slowed down village progression. The thing is, most of what it takes to build a village is just the hardwork of your villagers. Walls, roads, farms, and everything don't require any learning points. I honestly don't think it's a bad thing that you get to build things as opposed to having to grind.

As for slowing down or stopping alts, no one knows how to. No matter what you do, they'll just about always exist pretty darn everywhere. Making them bottable as opposed to curiosity-able won't even so much as slow them down. So when we have a reasonable alternative then great.

When you've fulfilled your study, you can play the game. Build, craft, hunt, talk, think, walk, mine and so on. After a while this thing are boring, this is because the game itself don't need to play it 12 h on 12. After 2 hours you have done everything you need to do and you can then go exploring or start to Metagame, make something that isnìt only useful but that is also fun, like Roads, Draws, Colonize, Discover new towns, Speriment new town layers, Map the under world for fun and so on.

Is a sandbox, so when the first task are ok for that day, you can also use your mind. This game whould be wonderfull if people whould use his free time to have fun with not necessary things.

Anyway you can always find something to do if you wanna be a huge town.

For this reasons i like this new system more than the grinding one. Isn't the best in the world but is a nice idea that fix good with the game.

Wow i'm so surprised this topic is still up, but I absolutely agree with you. And I know a lot of people that do too. I'm sorry that you had to get spit upon the way you did by everybody else, but that's because most of them are elitists and hard core gaming hipsters. The reason why they like this "curiosities" system so much is because they have a deep fear of the mainstream gaming techniques (Such as grinding). In other words, they just HAVE to be different. In my opinion, grinding gives a game more purpose since your progress depends on how much effort you put into something, and not solely how much time you spend waiting. Waiting games were made for Facebook. The trend I see on this forum whenever a topic like this is brought up (And I have seen many), is that the elitist trolls come in and as quick as they can spit down whoever brings it up, and lock the topic as fast as it can. Basically they wish to kill the problem before it gets bigger. So yeah, I know there are plenty of people who feel the same way that you do about this game, the only problem is that our voices are never heard. This community is kinda fascist but whatever its just how they roll.

Anywho, even though I agree with you that this game was fucked up ever since the curiosity update, there's not really anything anyone can do about it. The developers made this game and they made it the way THEY wanted it. And frankly they don't have to care whether or not anybody likes their game or their ideas, because they're in complete control.

The only thing caution I would give to the developers for being so close-minded is that this game's concept is a commercial gold-mine. Back in the "good old days" of Haven and Hearth, EVERY single new friend I showed the game to immediately got hooked on it. Every single one (And there were like 20 people in our village that all came over from another small-time video game community). It was the funnest game I'd played in all my life. All it'll take is some faggot to completely rip off their idea, and tweak a couple things (such as bringing back the grinding aspect of the game) that would make it more newb-friendly and appealing to the casual gamer, and I'd imagine it becoming another million dollar indie game (Like Minecraft, Angry Birds, or Terraria). Oh well more power to them I guess.

really? I read it all(strange for me to not just skim a post like that) and I don't think I'd read it again...

@GrimFlakez: grinding in a game isn't a purpose! games should be fun, its thier only purpose. grinding isn't fun, and can actually take away from the game. also if you're progressing here without putting in effort you're doing something I'd like to know about. please consider writing a guide. :)
