Wow i'm so surprised this topic is still up, but I absolutely agree with you. And I know a lot of people that do too. I'm sorry that you had to get spit upon the way you did by everybody else, but that's because most of them are elitists and hard core gaming hipsters. The reason why they like this "curiosities" system so much is because they have a deep fear of the mainstream gaming techniques (Such as grinding). In other words, they just HAVE to be different. In my opinion, grinding gives a game more purpose since your progress depends on how much effort you put into something, and not solely how much time you spend waiting. Waiting games were made for Facebook. The trend I see on this forum whenever a topic like this is brought up (And I have seen many), is that the elitist trolls come in and as quick as they can spit down whoever brings it up, and lock the topic as fast as it can. Basically they wish to kill the problem before it gets bigger. So yeah, I know there are plenty of people who feel the same way that you do about this game, the only problem is that our voices are never heard. This community is kinda fascist but whatever its just how they roll.
Anywho, even though I agree with you that this game was fucked up ever since the curiosity update, there's not really anything anyone can do about it. The developers made this game and they made it the way THEY wanted it. And frankly they don't have to care whether or not anybody likes their game or their ideas, because they're in complete control.
The only thing caution I would give to the developers for being so close-minded is that this game's concept is a commercial gold-mine. Back in the "good old days" of Haven and Hearth, EVERY single new friend I showed the game to immediately got hooked on it. Every single one (And there were like 20 people in our village that all came over from another small-time video game community). It was the funnest game I'd played in all my life. All it'll take is some faggot to completely rip off their idea, and tweak a couple things (such as bringing back the grinding aspect of the game) that would make it more newb-friendly and appealing to the casual gamer, and I'd imagine it becoming another million dollar indie game (Like Minecraft, Angry Birds, or Terraria). Oh well more power to them I guess.
