Yes enders. As far as combat I guess you are not doing it right. click the attack you want then click on the animal. Ive no idea why it doesn't work for you.

Combat > attacks > punch > click on animal (try left and right click).

You need uac and some basic stats. Fox's don't kill so feel free to make more attempts. You need attack bar to make attacks. The red one. Your defense hits 0 you take damage. 2. If you are trying to teach "a lesson" that is what temp bans are for. Your actions only make me disregard you more. If I am perma banned what is the point of changing? What is the point of taking to heart "the lesson"? Quite simply while I am perma banned there is no incentive for me to stop. Perma ban is the opposite of an incentive.
