ehm ,there are lots of small settlements out there doing fine, never being attacked and being on good terms with major cities or living on their own.

when being an end game character, you have to do some metagaming, to keep the interest alive - this goes into many direction, possible through the sandbox principle. in this world you are lucky, that the major faction decided to do their interaction and struggles mainly via some sort of economical competition. it could be totally different the next world.

and for the wall jump glitch, if you have a nice and big enough village claim you should be fine. the other possibilities of getting through walls need some attention to the game though, as there are rams and the like. no wall is up for eternity in here. this is also intended. oh, and by the age this world reached now, there is also the possibility, that there is already a brickbreaker around - or more then one. andhas the world fallen into pieces? no?

and for power in a game, as the LS of one of the major factions i don´t see me sitting before the pc with an erection, resulting from incredible ingame power. it´s more the social component, that keeps me attracted. the city i´m in, long ago evolved from a mere village chat to a more socialized form, where we also played other games then that and discussing general rl issues also. what more can you ask for?
