How about you people mind your own fucking business instead? Make your own topic or something?

This is how market works, if you like the prices - buy, if you dont like - pm to bargain, or don't buy.

Why would you bitch and moan instead? Why would you care if someone wants to buy 90 q70 clay for a bunch of blueberries ?

We may be traders but it doesn't mean we don't have pride. If someone with 15UA and no melee boasts that they're a warrior, it's an insult to the name warrior. A rival warrior would just kill him. Someone wanting to trade blueberries for Q90 clay is an insult, so we use what traders do best. We make a post and bitch about it ;)

But no in all seriousness there is a reason to annoy traders. Lots of useless posts push the legitimate threads further down the trade forum really quickly. I personally *hate* bumping my thread, but if I'm on page 2 I'm not going to get any business that day. At least part of why climax does so well is the fact that Zamp makes sure it's almost always in the top 10 posts.

I think I know why.

Advertising space is a zero-sum game on a forum like this. That's why people care when "bad" threads are crapping up the first page. They can crowd out the "good" threads. Especially since an OP can bump their own thread.

The solution, as I see it, is a limit on the number of times an OP can self-bump a thread. That way, thread popularity would be the basis for a merchant's advertising position on the forum. If nobody showed any interest in the OP's offers, then the thread would languish and drop from the first page.

This solution would not require us to set any objective standards about prices or merchandise quality. That's important. If someone wants to trade high Q steel for low Q pinecones*, then they're free to do so. And they're free to advertise their intention to do so. Subjective prices are the basis of the free market system. Let's keep it that way.

*but seriously, I have access to plenty of Q10 pinecones. PM me. I think you'll find that my rates are very reasonable.

Sigh and your missing the bloody point too. NONE is saying you can't make your own trade topic. For all we care, we could just ignore them and go to a legit trade topic that offers better stuff. The problem is that the OP is adressing is that there are trade threads out there that ask for eithet something impossible to aquire or there is a thread that already has what they want. If you want to trade something, think of something reasonable.

They are exercising their right of free speech. A concept you don't seem to have a grasp of.

Wait so you're mad at them for making topics about trading because their prices are ridiculous, but you make a thread NOT trading any items but 'about' other posts on the forum in the AfO thread? This belongs in Inn or something, doesn't it?

Also, just tell them their prices are a bit crazy, no need to get all mad about it, I've done it often in reverse offering great items for tons of shit items (cupboards for example). There are many things you don't know if bigger villages do or don't want, in bulk most crappy items are actually great.

Just because someone has free speech doesn't mean they should use it to be an idiot.

Use your own piece of advice.
Do you want see right through the devil's eyes?
You must have seen the ground where they all stood before
I was a young man then, I was a young man then
Spending my time on the killing floor
Be more than you seem to be
Joy of labour sets you free.

this.
I don't see the point of this thread. People who price to high are clearly going to get no buyers and eventually realize this and come down in prices unless they are completely retarded and enjoy no buyers.
