Also i completely agree with Borka.. yeah i can come down to the level of talking like an idiot and spew every cuss word in the know world. But it takes skill and elegance to insult someone without foul language, and that is a sight to see.

Can you define foul language if it's not something that insults you?
I think passive aggression and sarcasm is something that requires the least skill.

It's not actually.

Anyone advocating the use of such abhorrent, hateful language in any situation is a terrible person and should be personally ashamed. This is probably one of the most regressive internet communities I've been a part of.

"Retarded" is an old word that was originally used for anything from a machine that wasn't running properly, to someone with a handicap. Now do i think it is good to use? no but making the comparison is just silly. Personally i have an older uncle who is homosexual and he finds that term extremely offensive.

See i will show you the difference....

1.) best part of you rolled down the crack of your mothers ass and made a brown stain on the mattress....

2.) with a name like Nooby and a post history like yours i am surprised you have the foresight or intelligence to post in a thread like this, and make any meaningful contribution.

Which one do you think took more effort and finesse? any baboon can spew out racial/sexual slurs and random curse words.

Okay, I agree.
But which one do you think is more effective?
Do you think arguments are purely for a third guy's entertainment or, while you're at insults already, don't you want to insult the other guy instead of make him look like an idiot who doesn't understand sarcasm? You want to make him feel bad, not make him feel like you said a bunch of words.

i would say number 2 because it either will anger the person causing more drama (purpose of the politics thread) also it hits harder. Lets put it into context if you see someone bragging about placing a house infront of a gate as awesome pvp what do you do? you laugh at them and call them idiots. Were as if someone uses the game's combat system effectively and fights off multiple enemies what do you do? you congratulate them and laugh at the ineffective people that were fighting him. Skill and finesse will always hit harder and be more effective whether in a duel of words or in a duel of swords.

EDIT: also think its funny that neither of them really had a hard curse word... Ass being the worst once again proving you can get your point across without calling someone "faggot" "retard" or "nigger"

He pretty much explained there why the pure linguistic examination on the heritage of a word is indeed not sufficient.

What we are having is as much a moral as a cultural/social debate. Those are the real issues we need to question here. Nobody really gives a damn wether faggot once was used to describe a bundle of sticks...

The question is not what something used to mean, means now, will mean. The question is why is that so? And should we just accept anything that is going on silently?

It is not a coincedence that the term "faggot" was turned into an insult and not let's say the term "appletree". It has something to do with a broad and very backwards view on homosexuality as my former posts tried to show.
