This thread is about censuring my avatar, because of the blatant fear of islam, and when you say they can censer this thread, there is no chance of that. I would just make another account, and post the exact same topic.

This controversy happened in 30 September 2005 and you're just now bringing it up like it's big news. This thread isn't about your avatar being censored, it's about you mixing up drama and being a horrible troll. Everyone knows you can piss off a Muslim by depicting their Prophet because in their religion you are not to depict Muhammad in ANY form. Thus this falls along the lines of being respectful for another person's beliefs.

Just because you don't share the same viewpoint doesn't mean you have free reign to shit all over theirs, and this is coming from an agnostic.

And that you don't get me wrong here: i'm agnostic - i don't believe, but i can't prove that religious belief is wrong and that's why i respect peoples religious belief and studied all of them a bit (using written stuff looking at it from different angles) - Islam doesn't allow to make images of Allah or his prophets

(Salman Rushdie is a completly different story - and nobody who hasn't read Qur'an and his book (which i enjoyed reading ) will ever get what's that about the Fatwa outspoken against him )

The other problem is too many people are interpreting religious stuff in their own ways and too often in a bad way ... we western people should never forget that our cultural behaviour has a christian background and because of that a lot of shit is raining down on every living human in this world...

Be careful, there is a very fine line between freedom of expression, and censoring anyone that opposes your belief. This danish cartoon being censured is definitely censuring freedom of expression, that's why it was such a big deal. If muslims want to be offended, they can go ahead and do so, it takes a lot to make me cry. Also, sensitivity only reinforces the stereotype of Muslims as violent.

I'd love to know what jorb and loftar think about freedom of expression, and satirizing religion. They seem to be like freedom, so perhaps they can shed some light on this subject. Then maybe I can put my picture of that danish cartoon back in my profile pic.

my friend used to live in syria for a few years (long before the current mess), she didnt get raped nor killed for wearing her clothes.
another friend of mine lived in malaysia for a few years, she didnt get raped nor killed for wearing very light clothes either.
and another in indonesia for ages, the same thing. she even got herself a sweet indonesian bf instead

Muslims should stop being so offended each time westerner or someone else 'insults' their glorious prophet. Just because muslims get offended as easy as jew who was shown a swastika, doesn't mean they have to get more rights are any other shit because MUH RELIGIONS. If minorities stopped acting like victims all the time maybe we would respect them more and wouldn't say "oh those [insert minority here] are trying to rule over [insert country name here] again".
Also I never understood agnostics, the whole idea of always being uncertain sounds stupid to me. If you can't prove it then it doesn't exists and I am speaking only about religion there right now.
