It most certainly is not. Science is a logical process whereby hypotheses about the workings of the universe are systematically tested for validity. The goal and design of the process is to deduce facts. It is completely decentralized. Peer review is encouraged, debate is encouraged. Any existing tenants are constantly under attack and review, dogma is not possible under this system.

Science is the antithesis of religion. Science seeks to understand the actual universe, religion pretends to already do so.

That said; people can still be fanatical about scientific theories... it is possible for someone to regard science religiously; but your statement, as it stands, is absolutely false.

Also; debating religion is like trying to argue with a drunk. It is a futile waste of time. Logic has no place in a fantastical belief system... delusions of people unwilling/unable to accept mortality.

This is true. Scientific theories can be falsified, while religious ones can not.
That being said astrophysicists might be getting close to the point where some of their theories can not be falsified.
Also scientific theories often die off with the older generation of scientists/professors leaving the scene to younger ones.

thats what you think, whiskeypete.
once upon a time in america, i remember a reta... very religious boy objecting to our homeroom teacher for making all students take biology class and learn "evolution". (my first culture shock ;)) to him, science is surely another religion.

This overtyped dude is just too funny

First of all, something that people don't seem to know, murdering people is AGAINST the rules in islam. It doesn't matter what religion he is. Murdering somebody means taking away something that god gave to him, which is just considered a free ticket to hell.

second, murdered for not being closed in muslim countries (and I think "muslim countries" just indicate Arabia basically) just doesn't happen.. Perhaps if you come across the wrong bunch of people. But if youre not clothed, they arent just going to come up to you with a knife and outright murder you.

Penalty for leaving islam is death? No, perhaps a banishment from the country. What the hell are you doing in an islam country if youre not muslim anyway?

"If they are an atheist, you kill them on spot" No words for this.. Just outright bullshit

Just because you see certain bad things about muslims on american news (with the intention of making you hate muslims) doesn't mean that muslims are bad. A large portion of the muslims just live peacefully in the west.

Qur'an (4:89),(9:11-12),(2:217),(9:73-74),(88:21),(5:54),and(9:66) Sur'ah (47:4), (8:39), (9:5)

Surah 4:89 -"Those who reject Islam must be killed. If they turn back (from Islam), take (hold of) them and kill them wherever you find them"

And ofcourse, source: your own ass

Also, do you even know what Surah means? Surah is not 1 thing you dickhead.

inb4 everyone ignores this post because they dont want to accept the truth that muslims arent violent

Religion is not in itself pure evil. Its the organizations and the mixture of religion and politics that is the problem.
How anyone choose to act in life based on old books written by people living in a nomadic culture is beyond me, but I respect their
right to do so even if I disagree. In fact Id be willing to give my life so people could be allowed to believe, think and say what they want in my country.

You can falsify a scientific theory, but it will collapse under scrutiny, therefore you cannot effectively falsify a scientific theory. In order for a theory to stand up it must make predictions that can be tested, and be repeatable. A theory can never be proven, only disproven.

Although... if you have the budget of big oil, you can pay enough talking heads to convince a significant portion of the population that science is a lie.

I'd like to hear an example of a valid theory that died off with its generation...
