I like the red for mercury though, because the first color that comes to mind when I hear "mercury" is the red on an thermometer

Mercury is silver, the red is dying, nonetheless, it is still a pretty representative color if you can't depict it as the liquid metal it is. Plus it makes robots look like they have blood.

There are two thermometers outside my window, both have blue mercury in them. Almost all thermometers here have blue mercury in them, for some odd reason. But in our language the word for mercury already contains the word "silver".

Check the link and you'll find red is the most common color associated with it. (If the clipart didn't make it obvious enough.)

aside from that, why the hell are you even arguing such an insignificant point. was this really worthwhile to post?

And if you Google it up in languages other than English... If you are going for an international release, you shouldn't take things for granted, especially from just one cultural perspective.
