I love this game for the people I play it with; and the stuff we have made together. I like trying to help people in our area who we don't know yet, and trying to make sure our stuff is protected and safe in a hostile world. I like trying to work out more efficient ways of making stuff, and I even like the feeling of accomplishment when I raise our quality a bit, or make some nice deal (even though this world I am more of an unskilled labourer...)
I like the actual "making stuff" part of the game, unlike a lot of you it seems. Maybe thats cause I have only played in w5 and w6 so I'm not bored of it yet, I don't know. I even enjoyed getting killed the 2 times I did last world, in a weird way. Each time I learnt something at least (first time: carry lots of water, second time: dont hang around trying to talk to russian newbies, their friends will be on their way

).
I was initially attracted to this game because of the total freedom, and the way this could translate into a meaningful political/social/economic simulation. I regard the current status quo as the simulation of a dark age, I guess, where the strongest factions are in some sense "evil" and unassailable due to vaults etc, which is interesting as well. It is true that there is not a lot of interesting global drama in ICA anymore (kill count is not interesting), but there are some interesting things - like the slavery thing

. I think the "building/peaceful" part (not farmville btw) of H&H society is more fragmented now, but that doesn't mean its not a valid/interesting simulation anymore, in my opinion. I guess alt factories/vaults from the best factions could be looked on as invalid, but they could also be looked at as inputs into the simulation to see what effect that has on the rest of us
