What to do when the server is done

From what I've seen there are two major solutions to the issue of waiting for the server to go online:

1) reading the forums/chatting with other people
2) forgetting about the server spending time irl or in other games

As to 2) - what games do you play? I enjoy KAG as there is building, "sandbox-ish", killing and arcade element to it.
