Stance on Religion?

Some people like religion and some people don't. How about you? Just keep religion out of it. I like religion, however I am open to debates and discussion so I was wondering what others think about religion.

If it were not for religion, what would stop anyone from waking up and going out to stab their neighbors? Seriously, if we had no religion our entire society would devolve into chaos and humans would revert back to being apes.

Has it ever crossed through your primitive way of thinking that maybe human cooperation through division of labor and necessity (not to mention common moral altruism and empathy for your fellow human that you apparently seem to lack) is the reason people don't go around stabbing each other?
IIRC more people have been killed for religion than for any other reason in history.
