Having problems with Enders client plz help

Ok I downloaded the file i iunzipped it to my downloads folder and edited my run.bat file as it said and saved it. I have Java 7 and 6 in program files86 and I am running windows 7 64 bit. After I save the bat file I double click it I get a black does box that has something going on and then it closed and I get nothing. Please help... HOw can I tell what bit Java I am running and am I supposed to double click the bat file for it to run?
