The second quote was from another thread. The first quote didn't say the question is stupid, but you said he is 'smart enough' to ask questions. If you said "questions are a smart thing to do/ask", I wouldn't respond to that the way I did. However, you said he's smart enough to ask questions, I countered that by saying he can't even pick the right subforum, thread, or can't equip a torch.
I still stand by my point that asking questions isn't stupid, it's a good idea no matter if you're smart or not (it's annoying if it's in the wrong place where those kinds of questions shouldn't be, though).
