Trees Are Annoying... Help Please...

I'm having the WORST time with trying to make a tree farm.
I want to first start off by saying that I've looked at EVERY wiki,
post, thread, ANYTHING on trees but I keep getting only quality
7 Materials.. My farming is 17, The quality of everything else goes
as follows... 10 Seed, 10 Table, 40 Soil, 16 Water, 14 Pot... My only
other guess is that its my axe causing the quality to be so low, BUT even
still... How am I suppose to get a higher quality axe if I cant obtain
higher quality wood!? Its driving me INSANE!!

Trees only start with a percentage of their full quality and gains more as their reach each state which becomes 100% at the second to last state and last state. In other words, harvesting a branch of a half growth tree is going to give you lower quality ones.

All trees I take anything off of has always been fully grown, this isn't the problem.

You are using shit materials and getting shit trees. not sure what the problem is.
