Recruiting for my Settlement [Permanently Closed]

Postby mattym14 » Sat Jul 31, 2010 3:04 pm

Hello. I'm currently recruiting for my Settlement, I won't call it a village because It's not a village yet. I plan to recruit approximately 4 other people. The only requirement is have decent skills and knowledge of the game.

Edit: DO NOT just leave a brief reply saying "I'll join, invite me" or something relating to that. I want an overview of you, and your character, experiences, skills, Etc. Why? I don't want some goof joining, that's why. D:

Resources:

Grassland approximately 1 ''Screen'' Southwest (With q24 Soil)
Swamp approximately 1 "Screen" North
Conifer Forest approximately 1 1/2 "Screen(s)" Northwest
I've yet to discover a Mine.
A River/Clay Resource approximately 4-5 "Screens" Northwest
A Well approximately 1/2 of a "Screen" South

Civilization:

There are 2 settlement ''Near'' me. Either they are in 2 completely different time zones or they quit Haven and Hearth because I never see anybody there when I stroll by. (They are both Claimed) One is 1 "Screen" West, and the other is 1 1/2 "Screen(s)" East. There are NO major cities, villages, etc. from what I've seen. And I've traveled approximately 6-7 "Screen(s)" in each direction and I've only seen a few.

Getting Raided?:

It is extremely unlikely that we will get raided due to the lack of civilization. And I'm assuming by looking at the 2 nearby settlements, that there is no way they have trespassing. (I'm not guaranteeing we will not be Raided, but it's very unlikely)

About Me:

I'm friendly, easy to get along with. I will NOT give you orders but I will ask you to contribute to the settlement obviously. I want to get to know all of the members of my settlement.

I've been told that Boars randomly spawn but I've yet to believe that. There are Two boars that always roam in the same spots around my settlement sometimes they're there, sometimes they're not. But it's always in the same spots. (Don't worry I have a fence built, soon a Palisade).

Animals do spawn randomly, just not on claimed land.

Uhm, dude, unless this is an alt, you dont really have any experience to ask this stuff.
Heck, afaik the leading empires dont even do that.

Lol, that doesn't make sense. I'm asking to have considerably high Melee or Marksmen which isn't even hard. Nor is being on everyday even if its just for 30 minutes, to ATLEAST contribute. My expectations aren't that high, really.

Edit: Okay so my expectations are high. I'll change it up

Well sure its good to have active villagers, but you cant actually force them to play (as much as I would like you could every now and then ;)), neither is it smart to only take people from your own timezone; Lets say I wanted to raid you (myeah, just an example). I know you live in East USA, so I know when all of you are probably sleeping.
Deviding your villagers is a good thing. If you have enough it overlaps so that people are always online, which is much better imo.
Private forums (.tk site or something) can be good enough to discuss village matters.

Well, just my 2 cents though, good luck.

You've been playing slightly over a week, are trying to convince somebody with high melee (or high marksmanship, because you seem to think MMS is equally useful) to join your settlement based on your wealth of leather and variety of crops, and intend for that person to be your hunter and misc-servant. You're also demanding, not a range of timezones, but a SPECIFIC time zone, further murdering both your chances of getting someone, and showing your general efficiency in recruiting (any village worth its salt doesn't care when others are on, just about shit getting done). I do wish you the best of luck, without sarcasm.
