new, but serious player need village

Postby overtyped » Tue Sep 28, 2010 9:56 pm

I have been playing the game now for 2 days "real time" I have been unable to locate a single person. I am hoping to join anyone. Please messege me, and my players name is "Thor" my hearth secret is "tradeoff" Im standing there right now. If you could please messege me or make an alt and come to me please bring me to your village. I can be very useful because i can be on very often and this game is boring without others. ><seriously
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Since you're new, here's a tip. Don't put your hearth secret on the forum. There are many strange creatures called trolls. And their little cousins called griefers.

It's not that there are no people. Rather, the world is big and people tend to stay in their little comfortable carved niches. build a boat, sail around. You should find something.

The biggest issue I find is that new players are unwilling to explore beyond a few screens where they spawned. The world is bigger than the river to your south and the trees to the north. It's very easy to walk for 30-60 minutes before you run into other players or signs of active players. If you really want to meet people though? IRC and the forums are your friends -- but you'll need a less "I want to die" thread.

Did you even realize this thread was from a month ago? Did you even stop to think, "Oh yeah, this player might already have a village. Better just move along and not necro this thread."

Why am I not surprised? :|
