Gotland

Postby BoobyJo » Mon Oct 11, 2010 5:12 am

Gotland is a mountain side, small and walled village.

*NOTE* We really wish for all those who apply to list their time zone and if they are able to use skype (atleast listen; makes things very easy).

Village Features:
• Palisade Walls
• Multiple farm animals
• 4 Prefabricated stone mansions, 1 cabin, 1 timber house (Note; All but 2 of these buildings (2 stone mansions) are being used for storage of goods; if you don't get one of the mansions feel free to settle outside)
• Multiple areas set up for farming and/or other things within the walls.
• Helpful, kind trade partners.
• Remote location
• Crossroad System
• Tons of room to expand for those looking to settle outside the wall for more freedom and room
• Tin Mine within the village (AKA, "access to metal")
• Copper Mine within 10% travel weariness away (This means we'll have bronze)
• Timezone of (GMT -4)
• Ql 60 Soil
• Ql 55~ Water

Gotland is looking for the following positions:

Farmers: You'll handle most of the crops within the public farmlands and main area (other professions will be allowed to grow their own crops within' their private area).

Hunters: The hunter will be responsible for killing the wildlife in the surrounding wilderness.

Tanner/Leather Worker: This person is responsible for tanning and creating the two available types of leather. *Note* This position tends to take less time meaning we'd appreciate you taking up another one of the simple jobs.

Tin Miners: You will work in our Tin Mine collecting and smelting ore to be then placed in storage for the smithy to access. *Note* When both tin and copper are available miners will then forge bronze; also to go into storage.

Copper Miners: You will be jumping to and from the Copper Mine transporting the ores to be smelted into copper. *Note* When both tin and copper are available miners will then forge bronze; also to go into storage.

Animal Caretaker/"The Cheese Guy": You will care for the cows, sheep, and chickens of Gotland; feedings, shearing, milking and collecting eggs on a daily basis. You also will be in charge of making the cheese.

Forager: You will be going up and down, left and right looking for forest goodies (Chants, Blooburriz, Mussels, Clay, Clovers, ect.) to be taken back to the village to make delicious foodstuffs.

Cooks: You will cook a variety of foods for the village with the raw materials supplied by the Hunters and Farmers. (Job includes; Anything on the cooking menu besides cheese.)

Cartographer: You will explore the surrounding area using either a mapping client or old school ink and paper. *Note* As this position tends to take less importance; we'd appreciate you taking up another one of the simple jobs.

Lumberjack/Carpenter: You will chop down many 'a tree and either: Stockpile the logs in or near the village, OR, help construct a building or wall of a village member. Its all dependent on the situation.

Fisherman: You will fish the fish and put the fished fish in storage. *Note* As this position tends to take less importance; we'd appreciate you taking up another one of the simple jobs.

Tree Planter: You will make use of local water and soil spots to maintain a tree-farm.

What we want from you:
•A nice attitude
•The ability to speak fluent English
Playtime; We want our villagers to ultimately enjoy their time but in return we'd like to see you actually playing. This doesn't mean 12 hours a day, every day (unless you're into that). What it means is that (dependent on your job) we would like to see you logged on at least 2 or 3 times a week doing your job. If something arises and you are unable to play anymore or you'd just like to leave the village please tell me via PM or in-game chat that you'd like out. We aren't going to chase you down through the woods just because you left as long as you take what is yours and nothing more.

•New characters: We've got nothing against veteran characters but we'd STRONGLY prefer a new/less developed character to join us. The reason for this is that we'd like for those taking up their preferred jobs to be focused primarily on the skills and attributes related to those positions. This means that we don't want Mr.JimmyTwoShoes showing up with 20 cooking, 13 melee and 70 stealth looking for the smithing position when he could've shown up with 1 in everything and after spending some time being a carpenter or a forager (benefiting the village with much needed wood or foragables) investing his hard and well earned LP into the profession he prefers.

Ending Notes: Gotland IS recruiting. We're a newly started village. We have metal. We are STILL getting organized and are under construction and because of this plots are still undecided.

Contact me VIA PM, even if you post here and show your interest please click my forum name and send me a message telling me about yourself.

This is a proper L4Villagers post. I approve.

Bump; Gotland is in need of more people and is now recruiting any character, however old. The faster you apply the more likely you'll get the position you wish. Please PM me or post here.

If you are not to far in walking distance (3 days Game time) I would like to join as a carpenter. I really don't feel like making a new character.

I guess hoping for me old Forum goers to start playing in big numbers again is futile. So i'll just join another settlement.

Maybe he meant ingame years?
