Hermit Un-Village

Postby Professor_Mindscape » Tue Oct 19, 2010 11:30 pm

So I want to try something a little different.

Do you enjoy the hermit lifestyle, but wish you had the trade/military contacts, crossroad access and general silliness of a village?

I'm looking at setting up a "village" at an abandoned farm not too far from New Cockhaven. There's a fair few hermits and villages active in the area, and plenty of resources around.

By joining this unvillage you'll make new contacts, and have the opportunity to set up shop at a market away from your homestead. Unvillage society would be capitalist rather than communist, so you wouldn't be expected to contribute anything besides doing some occasional decay repair and ram checks.

The village will be just an idol, a couple crossroads, and a space for stalls. Possibly a hotel for people to stay in on long trading missions. It's a small place, so keeping decay at bay will hardly be an issue.

Before I go ahead and begin fixing up the place, how many people would be interested in such a thing?

I already have a place set up but I was intrested how trading would work here I mean first I am not going to walk all the way there what about using a hearth secret to travel to the market

Its not safe to put your hearthfire at a place you don't own. A charter stone could work. Or just teleporting to village.

If you're not within manual travel distance, you could use a crossroad at a nearby village. If that's not an option either then I suppose this venture isn't for you.
