Your best bet is to open a thread in the Dwarves&Thieves section about you looking for other newbies to team up with or a settlement to join (I can also move this thread if you want me to).

When you open a thread there just a heads up: Don't join zackattack and withstand his spamming on your thread that will inevitably be coming.
