Apprentice hunter looking for master

Postby Siluzzarti » Wed Dec 22, 2010 7:27 pm

Here's the thing, I want to hunt animals, and that's all I wanna do. I just need someone to teach me the ways of the Hunter, ranged and melee.

I only have 16 Marksmanship and 12 Survival, so I'm a pretty new person into the game.
Thanks for your time.

with 16 mm you can hunt any thing not boar or bear, though it may take time, by making a fence of fire construction signs around you or your target. fence in foxes, fence in yourself with sheep or oxes (with a big stone ya fool!)

boars will attack you or generally run before you can kill them or get protected,
bears smash through such puny things. look up some threads on huntin bear or boar. read the instructions on searching the forums and you wont get too many other things hopefully

The forums have helped me greatly, but reading about hunting doesn't seem to help me very much.

For boars, you usually need to have their level times 10, minus 10 in melee to beat them.

For bears it's their level times 10.

So until you get thanes or do a lot of grinding, i'd stick to the sling.

Didn't know if he was serious, cause I was joking and all in that thread.

Offer still stands I suppose. :)

Hunting is rather simple, it's all about getting a nice high quality sling, a boat, and going crazy.

With 16 MM you're not going far, so start off doing whatever you can to get a really nice sling, you can trade for one, aim for q350+ but if you can q400+. This will enable you to be on 3~4 peaceful and 1hko boars, aurochsen, mouflon, fox and deer. Bears will be 2-3 hits mostly 3 hits.

Now the only thnig to worry about is where to hunt, the best option is to go exploring in an 'uninhabited' or mostly uninhabited SG (there are still a few) try and find a nice X spot, build a village far away from your 'good route' and start there so you don't lower the animal level much. Alternative is to banner to your start point as banners/statues don't lower the rate.

Really you just want to be able to crossroad easily into your 'X' area to train.

If you need more tips or got any questions just PM me on forums.
