Law in the new world

Postby David » Mon Mar 01, 2010 8:55 am

I am in the process of building a small village, whose name will be Carlin. My village will consist of a few timber houses for residents to reside in, a few log cabins for storage, and a single stone mansion to act as a tavern and rest area for residents, travelers and merchants alike. All will be built in strategic locations and enclosed in palisade walls with a gate for protection.

The main resource for my village will most likely be crop farming and animal husbandry. That also includes all by-products that come from animals and crops.
For example: baked goods, cheeses, wine, beer, etc.
Farming plots will be situated outside the walls of Carlin.

I am not interested in expanding the village more than I need to (to conserve the natural resources of the land) thus the village in all its entirety will be small, housing only 3-4 residents (for the time being) including myself.

Once I have the general layout of the village built, I will begin accepting applications for residency. Each resident will be assigned certain responsibilities from myself which can include any of the following: hunting, gathering, farming, building.
Once Carlin has become established we can further specialize our skills to what we want to do.

If anyone would be interested in joining me in this project please reply to this thread or send me a private message. All are welcome to join. Established players a plus. Not all applicants will be accepted.

Can I just quickly note that your village will not be a village but a collection of claims. If you knew that then sorry to butt in.
If you didn't, you need 5 people to start a village, 1 needs to have the Lawspeaking Skill which is 20k LP after getting Yeomancy, and the other 4 need Yeaomancy...
[Politics] The word was derived by the joining of two others, Poli - A Latin word meaning Many. And Tics - Annoying Bloodsucking Parasites...

I am 12,000 LP away from learning Lawspeaking, but I didn't know there was a resident requirement. Thank you.

I am now 8,000 LP away from learning Lawspeaking and the walls are almost complete. I will soon be accepting applications for residency in the farming village of Carlin. Please keep checking back for any updates I may post.
