Quantities of raid topics in Congress

Postby Zamilpen » Thu Feb 17, 2011 4:52 pm

I notice that there is a lot more raid/grief topics on this section than what I have seen in a while and ironically. I'm not sure if it rivals the amount of topics that are posted during the beginning era of the other worlds (especially world 3) though. I guess it is because the population per supergrid ratio is a lot higher. In the last playthrough world I barely see many of these topic. I guess the presence of Sodom and Buyan makes it harder for thieves and rangers to get away with things even if they aren't really the world police). Now without a detering presence, it is less risky for these guys, especially more organized ones to wreck havoc and less likely to suffer repercussions. I guess I find it fortunate that I have no been hit by this griefer wave (yet, gulp). Anyhow, discuss.

There are way too many rage posts and somehow all of them reach 10 or more pages although they all seem to suck. There is only crap drama this world and still people are pushing it, making it impossible for me to read in Congress anymore. Unless like here I can squeeze in a post on page one.

Perhaps if given time that we have some of the more experienced players create drama (intentional or not) such as Klaue, Nao, AD, Odditown? Probably ne of the biggest highlights of drama was from Nao, the Battle of Black Helicopter, Mirigorod saga, and the clashes between Buyan and Xanadu. Things like raiders killing people that don't read the Town Defense sticky thread or random thief seem to come a dime a dozen.

Yeah :( I don't think we have any superpowers to go to war with each other yet.

I think the lethality of wild animals (initially at least) made life a bit cheaper and loosened peoples inhibitions a bit as well. Though I agree population density and the fact that so much of that population is inexperienced is making them more likely to be victimized and more likely to post drama threads as a result.

So you're saying that every newcomer MUST be obligated to read the forums BEFORE playing?
What the hell?

People play this game because they got curious and wanted to play, if you throw obligation to follow example, it'll only do the opposite and chase away people.

Most of the community here only cares about hoarding the game to themselves.

The topics and guides on the forum are the general tips and tricks that we've all learned through the school of hard knocks. Most of the newbies bitching about griefing and raiding are complaining because they've had to learn through this school rather than just being taught what to look out for. If you're not willing to read a guide to solve the problem, you're going to have to experience it to figure it out yourself, it's really that simple.
No one is saying the forums are mandatory but don't come crying to us when you get killed for really basic reasons, like not having walls.
