Mains still follow the alt's location, not warp to, so they come by foot. Also, there's no point in having an active charter with a wall around it.

Having attained the villagers I wanted (and 10 newbie skeletons, I have no idea how), and unleashed a plague of tree choppers and river campers, I turned off the charter stone. I recommend the experience to any village owner.
