I was exploring a little ways south of Odditown, and happened upon an entire minimap's worth of deforestation. I was like, "Holy... shit." Kept traveling south, and happened upon a huge ass palisade stretching about a minimap's worth as well. Seriously, who does that? Chop down a forest and then build elsewhere? Jesus, that's wasteful of EVERYTHING.

Guess you never explored around old Sodom :?. But um those tactics are used so it's not easy to build rams close to the town.Either that or they plan to expand. Sheesh have you ever thought about that?

Yeah Sodom deforested the entire area around ourselves, how else do you think we could have fit Flame's spider? :P

Seriously though, deforesting the region around you is something any good vilage would do to prevent rams materials from being easy to access. From all of the time that I have sieged enemy villages so far. 90% of the ram material came straight from the forest around them. The other 10% is to knock down obsolete walls and those logs were a pita to get without massing it with a wagon + crossroad.
If you keep focusing on the shadow behind, you will not see the light in front of you.

Being successful isn't just about hard work and succeeding, it is also about picking yourself up when you fail.
