It's true that you should not have stolen clay but his demand for renumeration was extortion, nothing less.

Thank you. At least you understand what I'm saying. I do not deny the fact that it was wrong to steal clay. But let's face it, it is a much lesser offense than waltzing into a base and stealing all of thier personal possessions.

Also, at this point it is highly uncertain that I stole his clay at all. It was more than likely not his at all and that he is only finding scents to only further his exhortative agenda.

You *still* dont get it?
Dont leave any scents at all if you're not prepared for any random griefer, even if it isnt his claim. Youre giving anyone a card to drop by and grief the fuck out of you.

I guess it makes people feel big and strong to kill people over incredibly minor slights.

One thing I've learned playing games like this is that most people try to find some justification to teabag eachother. Whether it be theft or some very bizarre projection of responsibility (the town wasn't palisaded correctly, it deserved to be raided, that kind of thing). They're not generally comfortable with boning someone outright but the instant they see some kind of provocation, they can play out their little powertrip; even if it's demolishing someone who had nothing to do with the original injustice. The whole "guilt by association" tangent is really infantile, petty, and vindictive. Not to mention primitive.

I'm no carebear. I welcome a good fight. But it doesn't mean I'll go out of my way to kill someone for something as minor as the theft of some clay, nevermind killing someone who has no idea what I'm talking about. Now if they murdered my friend in cold blood... well, that's a reason to stomp mudholes in some asses and walk them dry. But I'm positive half of the murderous zealots in games like this would cry themselves if it happened. They'd rage and flip out.

Hopefully, they'd even quit. And seeing them foam at the mouth in their own little self-centric world would most certainly be justice enough.

And THIS is exactly what I was talking about.

While actions most certainly carry weight, in many cases it's wholly disproportionate and fundamentally base.

Shifting blame from a random, total stranger who murders you simply because they can is asinine.

I almost feel as though Thijssnl doesn't understand that this post has nothing to do with me or my character. It's exactly what you stated earlier about shifting blame to a random character. I would much rather him come after me and attempt to take care of me than kill my friend (who btw is still fairly new the game and is really getting started). But no, he chose to attack the player without any metal armor or gear. Typical cowardice.

It's not about the incident. It's about the principle. Read all through this post and you will see what I'm talking about.

Oversimplification does not make you correct.

You stole clay. There's absolutely nothing else to say about this. Nuke his node from the edge of his claim if it makes you feel better, and get on with your life.
