If I may be the voice of reason here.

Photogasm, if you weren't killed you've lost essentially nothing. You cannot have anything irreplaceable within two weeks of playing. And rebuilding, re-crafting and all your possessions will simply improve your character. During this game you will constantly and to no end be replacing your items with better quality ones anyway. So what they took is only a minor inconvenience in a long and endless road of cyclical upgrading.

And 99% of the time you won't want to stay where you first spawn and will move to an area with better quality resources or into a village with like-minded folks.

So my suggestion, IF you enjoyed the game whilst playing, is to ignore the Why and focus on the How.

To directly answer your question as to "Why they did this to you?" the answer is because they can and you were a target of opportunity.

Join a village or focus on building a large palisade/brick wall first around the area you want. It will only take three days if you're quick.

Remember, the community is far more broken than the game itself. It is proven.

At least it's not as bad as the Roblox community... Little 8 year old posters and admins who ban you for so much as typing out a game's name.

People steal because they can. If you don't want to get stuff stole hid it better or have better defenses. The game is largely player created, you make your own justice/rules.

That said, why would you play a game where this stuff can and does happen constantly if you are going to quit when it happens?

Your ideology doesn't apply well to this game, that's really all it breaks down to. You can call us bad people and insult us in every thread but most of us enjoy the arms race that is present inherently due to the skills and options available in the game. This isn't even something I can get angry about, you're just that person who broods in the corner because no one will agree with you. It's great that you want to exist in a certain way in this game and on the forum, so does everyone else, but if you want to enforce it onto others, you're going to need a much more silver tongue.

I have been playing for about a week and a half. I just had a question for you.

Why did you steal every single thing I have?

Did I do something to you that I'm not aware of? I guess you want to be the only people in the game, it's obvious that new players are not welcome here. It seems like you went out of your way to come to my settlement and destroy everything you could find and take the rest. Why?

I loved this game and played it without incident until now. You seem to have some sort of grudge against me for some reason and it makes me not even want to log in anymore, knowing there is nothing I can do to progress - you will just come back and ruin me again.

I really hate to leave this game, but I see no other alternative that doesn't require me starting over from the beginning and losing all of my hard work just because you want to pick on the new girl.

Just accept the fact that almost everyone who plays this accepts and condones griefing and is a complete asshole and with their attitude would never function in an actual society, so instead, they bring their bullying to the internet to prove how tough they are.

So in life, people never ever ever ever manuever for advantage? Why do you think that books like the Art of War, Clauswitz's Vom Kriege and The Prince exist? And what makes you think what applies above to larger nations does not apply to smaller ones?

Hell, most of history could be argued as one form of 'griefing' or another. Obviously things need to be done to deal with botters and superwarriors, but that doesn't detract from the overall aggressive tone of humanity.
