the only way in would be using some version of the hf spam/minehole hack which is another thing that shouldn't be occurring in the first place.

The owner can still be shot from a boat. I know because I was shot on my island and it suuuuuuucked.

Although this may be a "gamebreaking" exploit. Have the devs considered making brick wall destroyable with something beside a Battering Ram? I know this isn't the page for suggestion but there's a sledge hammer in the game and I'm pretty sure you can break bricks with a sledge hammer in real life(hint hint). That's just my 2 cents added though. Also maybe for world 5 you can put in other siege weapons such as a trebuchet (catapult) to prevent this from happening in the future, eh?

I'm a peaceful guy and I promote peace in the game until I have to take action. So Bowerstone best of luck to you guys in fending off whoever this attacker(s) may be.

Bricks used to be destroyable by hand last world but that was changed to make sure that walls meant something after awhile. After 3 months time, the value of palisades was virtually nill considering the ease of producing a pali basher and the number of pali bashers running around.

what the player in the OP is building, is a hearth vault. for those who don't know, a hearth vault is a place where you keep your hearth fire after committing crimes, much like a 'prison sentence' for the duration of the crime scents. by protecting your hf, you protect your character from death by offline summons.

most people who use hearth vaults (or at least the brighter of them), do not log in with said character during their 'sentence', unless necessary for retreat or defense. they have alts in the area of the hearth vault to scout for signs of a siege, and happily feed their cows and make food for their main character on farming alts back in the main village.

therefore, unless the player building this vault insists on continuing to use that character after the crimes, the odds are rather low of this person being shot from a boat.

also, someone with the resources to make a brick wall presumably would have the capability to gain enough armor class to block any damage from archery, save for a good ranger bow

Those are all very good points. I technically have a hearth vault, because my hf is in my cellar, but that's because I'm too lazy to bother walking through my house to get to my cupboards downstairs. However, I don't commit crimes, nor own any of the dark skills. I live on a palisaded island fortress, but would my island be smited if it was brickwalls?

in w3 some friends and i tracked some AD dudes to an island hearthvault; we contacted jorb and he removed the walls. this prompted them to quickly make another hearth vault named 'jorb is a homo'

if you're that worried about it, a way to cover your ass would be to leave a section of your island unwalled, enough space where a ram could be built. most people won't bother to ram a brickwall unless they are certain the place is inactive, or are coming after you in retribution
