It's tough to avoid overlapping post content when I'm playing and simultaneously replying to several new posts. I also have to repeat things because people either took something out of context (as you did) or completely missed something and baited me. What was the point of your question? I missed it.

You (and a few others) keep making these long-winded posts but in the end you don't really seem to have anything important to say.

You've yet to make a post where you did not whine and try to play yourself up in this thread. Without exception. Dragoon's post has 0 relevance to my point. Dragoon's ideology is based on extremes and promotes limited interactivity. Essentially, you need to safety proof the internet and the interactions that one may process or dole out. In this case both sides are casting the other in a bad light and flaming began -- he said to knock that off. That's great and has nothing to do with me cutting down your argument unless you make the case that my post is nothing but a flame or a personal attack against you. Go right ahead.
I am a person of limitless patience and your words in this thread have managed to make me seethe. Kudos. I mad.

The discussion went well beyond the context of this specific situation, I said that I didn't know enough about it to bother with it. According to others I'm 'white knighting' and called the OP stupid

Sorry, I actually meant Osium, not the OP. My mistake.

Lol. This can't be serious. I certainly would not blame the person who left the gate opened, it's just the most nonsensical thing I've ever heard. I seriously don't get why you feel that anyone would do that. I'd certainly demand satisfaction though, but not because it is fair or unfair, but because my friend was hurt and because I can.

Edit:
Anyways, if you haven't yet noticed, it doesn't matter whose fault it is in the end.

It's a forum for a free to play sandbox MMO, lol.. Disagreements over either political subjects or moral ones are likely the most relevant and important topics this forum will ever see and they'll never matter in the real world. Oh well, maybe some newbie wont get shot on sight some where thanks to my many "whiny" posts.

This is a player molded world. Consequences will exist if we manage to implement them.

How about everyone just shut up and say both side screwed up? Arguing is going nowhere since neither side is going to yield the argument. OP, dont walk in gate of places you don't know of. Village people, keep your gate closed if you don't want to put your min-maxing asses at risk.

if the OP looked at any of the dozens of skeletons from our war laying around or any of the runestones in the vicinity, or even how we decorated our town, there would be absolutely NO WAY to believe that this was the correct place to walk around and snoop in our gear.

Our existence from the beginning has been toil and hardship and war. I'm sorry that we don't throw roses in front of the feet of everyone who runs into our gate as we open it up to let one of our members in. I wish I were more sorry though.

If the OP did actually 'slip in' then the village in question really need to review its gate procedures, 15 seconds if far longer then needed to get some people through a gate, no one should be able to get in even at a sprint if you do it right. Ideally you would be using an airlock as well, I'll give you a pass on crossroads as it would be assumed the Russian hostiles did or would have vandalised it.

Your security procedures simply do not match the level of paranoia you claim is necessary to defend yourself, I find no fault in your paranoia level (I probably exceed it myself). But your group needs to improve security so a legitimate newb OR a real thief would never have been ABLE to get inside and shoot-first situation would never have arisen. Decorating your walls with threatening rune-stones is no substitute for real security procedures.

Mine wasn't an issue of security measures. It's that there's no way anyone would have mistaken our city for a friendly trading post. He might as well have walked up to a bear and tried to add it as kin.

Hi, I'm the newbie who posted this last night. Just to keep record straight, I was invited into the village by another villager who I met some distance from the village. They opened the gates for us and led me in. I was not running anywhere - i was carrying my boat at the time. They murdered me for no reason. their gates were locked with a gatekeeper having the key. All I had in my boat was fish and newbie gear. They made me kin before attacking.

This village are not to be trusted. The attackers had purple robes if that means anything and one that made me kin was named Garg.

This is just to warn others who might be invited to visit their village. They use mikes to speak to each other to save typing. They asked me if I was using ventrio (?) before they attacked.

Thank you
