Griefer Annoyances

Postby bub2001 » Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:40 am

Ever since the day of the reset i have been encountering griefer problems. Someone drew the male reproductive organ in paved stone on my land, the guy walled my gates in, stole some of my items when I first started, stole my boats, and now sealed my palisade. Considering it takes 12 hours to set a palisade I cant sit there and watch it. I have been trying to ignore it to see if things get better. No sign yet... frankly I am getting pissed off. I live in this area.
Sorry the picture is bad quality, I had to make it small enough to fit the requirements

I guess I just prefer to see the dark side of things. The glass is always half empty. And cracked. And I just cut my lip on it. And chipped a tooth.

1. Move
2. Fight back
3. Deal with it

I don't want to move, I am a hermit. I can't fight back because he never enters my claim, so obviously I have to deal with it. The reason I made this thread was to maybe get some help from a kind stranger. Ik it would be hard for someone to help, but if there could be someone who would be able to set up camp nearby and watch when im offline. Id be willing to return the favor

Oh ya. Duh.

If it's possible to start a village with one person, then you should do that. Because then you'll have a village claim and you can construct crossroads.

You could even build a second Palisade wall if you are really desperate.

Being a hermit player has never stopped me from moving on when an area gets bad. If it's annoying you, cut your losses and move to a better place. Bonus points for returning later and kicking his ass when he least expects it. ;)

World is really small. Lots of people. Lots of retards. Learn to protect yourself or you *WILL* be griefed.

1) Never build important things, like initial palisade cornerpost, village idol or mine on an unclaimed area.
2) Never leave items on an unclaimed land (boats, crates, anything). Or it WILL be stolen at some point.
3) Always seal palisade corners when finished building.
4) Make friends with decent people. Even if you are hermit, get to know people who live around.
5) Learn to fight. Get all combat-related skills. Read all the skill descriptions. Make a combat-only hotkey panel. Practice on ants and frogs, get a basic idea of what to do when in attacked/see thief/etc. Having at least 100 Unarmed Combat never hurts at all.

What did you expect when you're right next to a river?

That. Starting your settlement in range of a river is a griefwish.
