Let ye learn from this, th' both of ye;
Don't steal till ye can put yer fire indoors with a pallisade.

Any scents leading to a hearthfire thats not pallisaded = dead
Any scents leading to a hearthfire not brickwalled = probably dead
Any scents leading to a hearthfire not vaulted behind multiple layers of brickwall = still easily dead

this.
Hide your hearthfire out of view of any point of view along your walls.
MAKE WALLS.
and if your walls are securing a zone too small or too narrow? hide your HF in a building.

I personally have mine in my mansion.
not because I commit crimes, but because I like to know I'm safe even if I did.
