What Happened to New Mark?

Hello, I am a loosely affiliated member of New Mark. I have been off for about a week and when I come back there are messages surrounding the city saying they are about to be raided along with bodies. Can somebody please inform me on what has happened there recently?

My guess would be that rangers from Jew Mark were too busy liberating their precious copper mine from this guy while their town got raided.
