Chop away all your trees, plant grass on the forest-floor tiles left, enjoy no-more boars but chicken instead

However they do spawn on village claims.

If you think this game is unfair, you've never played Dwarf Fortress.

Sometimes you just wake up and find a bear on your front lawn. That means its time to go find something productive to do in RL for a bit. Just the way the game is. Hell, it's why I love it, it's not one of those games where victory is guaranteed (Like 99% of most modern games).

Eyah, perhaps it is like DF in that way. I think a lot of players who come to this game don't have previous experience with something related to the rogue likes. The concept of permadeath (although relaxed somewhat for this game) comes as a huge shock. As does being utterly helpless. Compared to the brutal difficulty of games I usually play this one isn't bad in my opinion. All the raging about it does make my day, but I can see why vets get annoyed at it XD
