What's it for? Making tea perhaps? Do I fill it with water and tea leaves? Did I answer my own question?

I haven't actually used one myself, but I do believe that it is used in making tea. But the tea part stays in your inventory when you're doing so.

1. Put water and branches in cauldron.
2. Acquire 2 tea leaves and 1 teapot.
3. Light cauldron.
4. R-click the lit cauldron.
5. Craft "tea".
It refills stamina. The tea is stored in the teapot until you drink it.

right, but you need to put the tea into a mug first by taking the pot and rightclicking on the mug. then you can drink it
