Using a Sling

Postby bub2001 » Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:05 pm

So I equip a sling i made to my hand and have stones in my inventory. I tried shooting a boar with it but all that happened was the aimer bar came up and it stayed black, it didnt rise or anything, so i let it sit for like 20 seconds and shot, the shot missed. It keeps happening my marksmanship is at 2, is this why the bar isnt showing up?
I guess I just prefer to see the dark side of things. The glass is always half empty. And cracked. And I just cut my lip on it. And chipped a tooth.

You need higher marksmanship, 2 is nothing.

You should hunt Chickens, Rabbits, and Rats until your marksmen is about 15. Then start trapping Foxes and try those.

You should make LP with something like plowing until you can buy high marksmanship. I never trained MM with MM until I could hunt aurochsen easily.

Yeah, rabbits and such are pretty much impossible to hit at low marksmanship, since your aim bar plummets whenever the target moves.

I think the higher your MM, the faster the bar goes up. The higher the sling quality, the more damage you do.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Look, I wasn't saying it was the best thing to do. Clearly there are better options. But that's what I've been doing. I'm currently at 10 marksmen and I kill Chickens and Rabbits with the occasional ''Dodge''. My friend is level 15 Marksmen and I've seen him kill Foxes fast and easily. I'm Just giving you my advice from my personal experience.

It's way quicker and easier to run up to a chicken/rabbit and right click it then to wait for your bar to fill up

Yes, well killing them will result in a low LP gain. But if you're still killing rabbits, Etc. I'm assuming that small amount of LP is worth something to such a player.
