1) Run
2) Hide
3) Trade for enough wrought/steel to make giant brickwall (may not stop em but might give you something to work towards).
4) Offer up all your pittiful 20 ql "spoils" in return for being left alone.
5) Die and get an ancestor, zoom to your old plot when you think it's clear grab whatever you really need that's left and declaim, then move far far away, till it happens again.

If you can trade or steal the higher quality stuff you're fine catching up. FEP/LP wise there's always a chance to catch up, you just need to get some respectable resources (q70+ water/clay/soil) to be consider anyone.

No matter, you can still catchup, anyone can, but don't expect to compete soon with people who will have q200+ bones, so you better also be able to trade for good cows (or sheep/pig) and raise them fast.

As Koya enjoys constantly reminding people, AD joined late and is now one of the major players.

Others of us just joined villages instead, but in this game I praise knowledge over skills, if you have the superior knowledge you will get further with less.

This man speaks the truth.

Knowing what, when and how to do something is significantly more useful than walking around with 2000 CON and STR going "durrr how do i shot web?".

Does it really happen that often that the big bad wolf just comes along?
I don't see any gain for the better player in that. I understand requesting tribute though.

i've never had a "big bad wolf" come along after me, but it is a reality. there are many reasons you might get attacked - revenge for a theft, you have something they want, free LP, or just some good old fashioned lolz (the last two reasons are suited more for the 'serial killer' player type)

how have i avoided this? by keeping a low profile, having good village defenses, and not doing stupid shit - well, keeping that to a minimum anyways

also, nobody knows where i am. and if you think you know...you're wrong ;)
