Skills...

Is there something I've missed? Not sure but hoping there is some sort of skill guide similar to the attack/maneuvers guide on this forum. A lot of the skills are vague or need more describing to me. The wiki is lacking most skill descriptions. Any help on this would be nice.

I think most skills are described on the skill screen, though. In case you haven't noticed, the format is generally Name -- Lore text -- Description. Are there any particular skills you're wondering about?

Well, the ones that are literally name-lore text-description could use a little text. You know, the ones that say [LORE TEXT] and [Description].

Well law speaking and sericulture are two I don't know about...I'm just so used to looking at Wikis and guides and seeing overviews of the skills so I can tell which ones I should get first and what not. I am not trying to criticize you guys though, don't take any harm to it...I just think an over view of the skills would be a nice addition to the forum...with like pictures and descriptions on how to use them and what not. Kind of like that topic with the attacks. there are some skills I haven't unlocked yet so I can't see the descriptions for those to see if I want to unlock them.

Lawspeaking is a skill used to set up a village idol so that you may lead a town. Obviously somewhat low priority, unless your ambition is to lead a town.

Sericulture is used for silkmaking - to unravel cocoons and work with the silk fibers, threads, and clothes themselves. Also somewhat low-priority as it's high-end stuff. Nature-specced characters are also much better at it, so industry folks should probably look elsewhere.

oh see i'm in a group of about 8 people (we all started together and we're settled together) and we're just tryin to get by relatively new to the game, you should see our settlement it's getting pretty high tech. We wanna eventually make a castle or something (fortress maybe?) in the farther away areas. we're just doing the best we can...so thanks and hopefully there will be some sort of skill guide soon...couple more things, I'd like to know how I can heal myself and other players...i'm guessing the herb table has something to do with some of it. I'd also like to know how I should start off killing..so far i haven't been killing much...i tried to punch a cow to death and it kept not hitting or something.

Cows are notoriously quite ninja for the untrained.

More seriously (and more importantly), with regards to healing, you've got two methods: First is gauze, which is made from wool at a loom (I imagine it requires First Aid.) The loom requires clothesmaking, I believe. It restores 10 HHP over time, or so I've heard. Some people claim it restores HHP indefinitely. To use it, click on the gauze in inventory, and drag it to someone's character sprite and right-click. Use the only option, Treat Head, and they'll be bandaged. Keep in mind this requires that you don't have any headgear on at the time, as the bandage is effectively a hat.

The other option are leeches, in swamps, which will do SHP damage (the first number on your HP bar) but have a chance to heal HHP (the second number on your HP bar). You'll get them randomly 'equipped' to your empty equipment slots in swamps.

As for combat, you'll need to invest a few LP into unarmed to kill a cow, most likely. You can also use combat moves, or instance attacks, to give you a higher chance to hit. The easiest one to do would be Strange, which requires you to have nothing equipped in your hands and can be used with the hotkey K->G.

i've put 4 into unarmed and after putting 1 in I saw a difference that i actually hit them once before getting tired...but now i'm at 4 unarmed and I hit it twice for 3 damage each hit and then i got tired...before killing the cow i got too tired to fight anymore with my constant missing...i can't use any skills because i don't get initiative or that other stuff...

To improve your hit rate get a better weapon, or train the combat skill you are using to at least 10.

To improve damage, raise strength.

To deal with tiredness drink tea, and make sure you aren't very hungry or starving.

Never attack anything while overstuffed.

If you are in a group that's all new, the easiest of these is raising the combat stat.

If you keep missing, you should be seeing initiative "coins" on the combat screen. You get them by missing.

i've trained up a bit and doin ok, killin cows, but the only way i can get initiative points is through sacrificing SHP with that move no pain no gain and then using the other thing while things are going my way to get more IP when I miss i'm not getting any points from these cows at least.
