Boars and Bears

So I've fought a bunch of boars and every time their health gets low they run, now I don't know about bears but I think the wiki said that they also run from you

Now my question is is there any way to trap these guys? I don't really care much about the materials but more the lp that it gives so I want full lp but I can't obtain that with these running

Do I need a good amount of unarmed to do damage while the boars back is turned or is 1 fine

Bears do run, but they come back if you wait. And no, 1 unarmed is fine as long as you catch them while they are moving so their defence counts as 0.
